oooohhhh I had totally forgotten about the Marauder!!! Hmmm I think that would be a fun one to make here at the guitar shop. Good thing there is a metal shop next door to us to make all them weird plates. Only pisser is I have no idea what Fender planned to do with all those switches!!! Maybe I could figure something out. If I do keep an eye on the projects page ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

They can, I asked a while back, but the price they want to make them is out of this world, damn unionsthe_dude wrote:wait... could that metal shop make bridges?matocaster wrote:oooohhhh I had totally forgotten about the Marauder!!! Well see they have all sorts of CNC machines to make their shit, they said I would need to provide a C.A.D. program for the bridge, just to make one they quoted me at $300 duh. But if I provided them with a C.A.D. layout and a mass order (500+) they would make them much cheaperthe_dude wrote:aye, how much for a bridge were they going to charge you?matocaster wrote:They can, I asked a while back, but the price they want to make them is out of this world, damn unionsthe_dude wrote: wait... could that metal shop make bridges?

If you take in the fact that they are custom making a one of a kind piece for you, it's not that high, but still is quite ridiculous.the_dude wrote:Wow they're dicks. 300 for a Guitar bridge.
Do you know anyone that could make an Electric XII bridge? If so how much?
Also your plan to make an XII is still on? The best idea I have is that you could try and find a bridge to a Strat XII and use it as a last resort.

Wow thats a tall order, but cool. I saw one at the Dallas guitar show last year, he wanted I think $75 for it. I know the vendor, i'll contact him and P.M. you if he still has it, he has all that rare and weird stuff. Is about $75 too much? I know he is pretty proud of his stuff but I have no idea what it's worth.the_dude wrote:Wow they're dicks. 300 for a Guitar bridge.

long as it doesn't hit over 125 (i think thats what they go for) then i'm good. I'll need to fetch monies though.matocaster wrote:Wow thats a tall order, but cool. I was going to make a replica of the Marauder posted in this thread (that sunburst one). It's simple enough to do. You just need to get a body cut out in that exact shape (and with only pictures to go on) then design the overall pickguard/metal plate shape. You'd then have to get a metalwork guy to cut you out the four plates (upper horn plate, lower horn plate, control plate and bridge plate). The bridge plate isn't as bad as you think, it's really just a Mustang bridge, and anyone who's got a Mustang bridge knows it's just a lipstick tube with two rods going through two holes, and the bridge assembly itself going through two holes. The hardest bit would be getting the two little "hooks" on the underside that the springs hook onto. After that, just get hold of some huge rocker switches, wire it up to your hearts content and rock out.
Maybe this thread? HERE BE OFFSET SALIVATIONS GALOREstewart wrote:lordy. wasn't there a guy on offset who did a reasonably close copy of one?
Not exactly a Marauder but has some of it's look and the end result is pretty impressive.

No one figured out that the bridges on those are worth more than the guitars themselves I wanted a Venus XII for that reason, and yes my project is still on, after all it's my favorite guitar.silly_rabbit_band wrote:If you take in the fact that they are custom making a one of a kind piece for you, it's not that high, but still is quite ridiculous.the_dude wrote:Wow they're dicks. 300 for a Guitar bridge.

No one rips off the bridges to them, and no aftermarket brands make them, which makes an unhappy Josh.

hmm. i only really like the neck/headstock, if you had that on a standard jag/jazzy body, it'd look amazing.Black Cat Bone wrote:Maybe this thread? HERE BE OFFSET SALIVATIONS GALOREstewart wrote:lordy. wasn't there a guy on offset who did a reasonably close copy of one?
