What was so custom about the guard?
Again I really can't recommend Terrapin Pickguards enough. $31 gets you a basic single or three ply guard. They have a PDF to download so you can cut out and check it fits with your current pickguard. In fact now you cant order without confirming you have done this.
However, they do US and Mex guards only.

Well, technically I'd have to buy adhesive, but roger that. Will do.

Guys, as it is clear that all Jaguar pickguards are (should be) shielded, and seeing as it didn't fit, can I ask him to shield it? It is CUSTOM after all.

i'd say part of him making it right would be to shield it for fucking free

well, not all of them should have adhesive shielding. the vintage ones and apparently the american reissues have a shielding plate.

it fits under the pickguard like the jazzmaster and early 60s stratocaster shielding plate.

My MIJ has a brass sheilding plate in that shape. Same purpose?

does it hurt to add adhesive to a guard where the guitar already has a plate? would it help?

nah, I don't think it'd hurt. I think it'd be mostly redundant but it might help a little. If someone wants to do that with their guitar, that's totally cool. I was just trying to point out that not all jaguars have it like that.

It does help. It forms a Faraday cage which rejects external interference and noise.

Allright folks. He fixed it and sent it back... It fits. Not perfect, a spot near the 3 switches is raise by some unever pressure, but it's hardly noticeable. now time for t3h pics!
I think it's a vast improvement.

Is the guard in your signature aged pearloid? If so, how'd you get it? I've never seen a mass produced aged pearl guard.
