The quietest pickups I've ever had
No thanks. What I want is the jangle of a Jaguar pup but hooked up to a 250K pot. I want two of these and two 3-position switches for phase in / phase out goodness.

I didn't know that. I just don't want to have to wire up my Jagmaster like a Jaguar. I thought Jags had mismatched pots (1 meg and 50K or something like that).
You can wire a guitar up any way you like. I have no idea why you would connect those pot values (which are only in the rhythm circuit by the way) with not having a 250K pot.
If you want spank use a 500K or 1meg volume pot. You can also up the value of your Tone pot if you want.

Some are passive.
EMG produce a decent range, its just they get associated with Thrash Metal or Zak Wylde. People forget the tonez of people like Dave Gilmour that used EMGs for a long time.

Fran!! Good to see someone from JS.com here
Did Gilmour use active or passive EMGs?
I think they are active, i read the book written by Pink Floyds guitar tech. They were used because of the low noise, considering Floyds lighting rig combined with a Strat they must have had a nightmare beforehand. He may use a Rocktron Hush now though.

I have an EMG active pickup in my '76 P-bass. Sounds pretty damn good, and looks totally out of place on that instrument. Never tried the guitar versions, though.
