no it doesn't.
alright... the sand-fest (as in, sanding) / restauration has begun...
first the color and terrible logo on/off the headstock had to go. yes the headstock MIGHT have been reshaped. don't have another 70s mustang at hand to compare (and the '64s is different anyway). it HAS happened that logos (or at least leftovers of) have appeared down there.
well not this time. instead, and UGLY-ASS wood!?
![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)
by GOLLY people it's aweful! but AFAIK there were no stock painted headstocks on mustangs anymore. so maybe that's the result of some other previous refin or something. i'll try to sand that down as well. or not. so the guitar might have a matching headstock after all someday.
for those that say "it's not even a fender neck", check this out:
no date stamp or so (normal for the era) but the famous TORRES and another stamp (seen a lot, but what is it?). truss rod works a-ok btw.
still on the hunt for a cheap 70s mustang body. i have no wood-skills or so...
i keep thinking about how cool it would be to put this on some sorta jaguar body, almost maverick/custom-ish, but without the hacked away picasso pieces. anyone maybe got time/skills/mood to do a draw-up of that?
thanks, stay tuned. i might continue this in the project/restauration section. my 6-week vacation begins in a week and i NEED TO GET THIS DONE, or i know myself, i'll lose interest and end up selling the shit.
help out please!
rock on,
Pat.
