Yes. It's a great pedal, it is a Foxx Tone Machine Clone. The guy who designed it (Steve Ridinger) now owns Danelectro and does questionable things with his spare cash. Namely using it to oppress the rights of others. Nice chap.

That doesn't affect the fact that the original design is a crazy sounding octave-fuzz.

never once. had i stated that if someone wanted to foolishly delude themselves into thinking that boycotting Danelectro was a stand against homophobia or thinly cloaked post-colonial proselytizing or allegedly questionable business practices that they should not do so. never once. did i say that someone should not boycott a company. me personally, i see the futility & poverty in such a "feel-good-consumer" tactic. if people want to boycott or buy used & not new, then they are free to do so.

there is no such thing as a good corporation. or an "equitable" company. hell, i have been "boycotting" Nike for almost like a decade & a half now. i simply refuse to buy Nike products. but has anything changed? has Nike close its doors? no. will i still continue to not buy Nike products? yes. do i think that my "boycotting" Nike has any affect on their bottom-line. nope.

so yes. anyway. can we pliz talk about this pedal. since this is an effect pedals thread. pliz?

You have made so many points that I disagree with, but I think I'd be wasting my time. When you argue with idiots, they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience. I fancy one of these pedals, I have for quite a long time. If I see one for the right price I'll probably have to get it.

Hmm, maybe this is the right price. I know there's a lot of "ethics" involved with Danelectro these days, but I'm pretty sure the retail price was a lot higher than what this guy is selling it for. He can't be making a huge profit, and he's already bought his stock from them anyways, so they've already got his money and spent it on evil stuff.

But it's not like 'It doesn't count as long as I don't buy direct from Dano'. This sort of action is about not buying new product from retailers, and if you want to go one step further, emailing the importers/Dano themselves and saying why.

yeah i am apologizing for over-reacting in that thread. no one that i am aware of said that they were NOT going to stop using Dano peds altogether, only that they were going to stop buying new. which is basically what i do anyway. i just recognized a certain counter-productively futile "feel-good" consumer pathologie & kind of went overboard. & was reactionary. i am deeply & truly sorry & i offer my most heartfelt apologies thereto--

i think that sending actual letters to the importers/Dano themselves would be a better step than emailing IMO...
