best place to find telecaster body with contours?

It's the most important part of the body for tone. Let it nudge your ribs into the tone zone.

Have you tried GFS (Guitar Fetish)? I have a dim memory of them selling a bunch of Telecaster bodies (finished and all) for cheap. Might be worth emailing them since their inventory is not up on their website. In my experience Warmoth make good product but are intolerably slow and also can't be relied upon to get everything right (wrong radius on my Mustang neck, comp stripe in the wrong place on RodVonBon's body). They are stoners.

i guess i will look into warmoth. i'm not in a big hurry, it's been this long. plus i've got to off some more shit before i can justify getting something new.

I think that they kind of constantly annoy my sensibilities. Trying to make sense of a contoured tele is like trying to make sense of a circular square.

yea, the tummy cut is alright (like a tele deluxe) but the fore arm contour just does not look right.

I think that pic in the original post looks great. Though pole pieces on a tele neck pickup always look rubbish.
