This is true for me as well...
Really the only Sig models I've ever felt compelled to buy were the JazzMascis and now the LeeBlaster. However there is a soft spot in my heart for the First Act signature Paul Westerberg. The fact that he went out and made a truely affordable signature guitar is amazing to me, no matter how shit that company is I think thats a cool move for his fans.

ahahahaha, you must be referring to their appearence on Seventh Heaven a few years back? Or their major label record contract? or their music's inclusion on numerous big studio films? Surely not that they let a company make guitars for them...
don't try to told'd me aen i tried to convince myself sy were still cool, but now it's the last drop, i'll stick to watching blood on the beach videos and think 80's sy is not dead..but it is. too bad i was born in 85 i missed out

Love the guitars, not sure why. I need an excuse to buy a Jazzmaster, if it were all wrong and ass-backwards like that I could probably justify it. Otherwise my Jag fits the bill.
Wasn't the Mascis JM Mexican btw, not Japanese?

dude, if Fender came to you and was like, "we'd like to make a HVM sig Mustang," I bet you wouldn't tell them to GTFO.

Mike makes it his business to be wrong about Sonic Youth.
It's not my fault I can see through posturing to the banal wank they are.
I'd rather listen to sonic Youth having a group shit in a slaughter house for a week than suffer through an elliot smith record.
Quoted for Stupidity. They're shit and shite and Smith was an incredibly gifted songsmith whose skills cannot be underestimated, and nothing he did was EVER masturbatory or extraneous. Much of Sonic Youth's output is both.

Wow, never knew that. I think I assumed it was MIM because of the CP Jazzies, guess I never bothered finding out when they debuted.

don't wanna rip into you there but you know this was a stupid question but you asked anyway.
New Jazzmasters is pretty big news around here because this is a forum about guitars.
Anything involving Sonic Youth is very a polarizing issue because this is a forum about guitars.

2 screws are for the top of the control pate. the other 2 are in the end of the pickgaurd. They are seperate, you can see a thin line where they meet. (i think)

doesn't look like there's a line to me i see it now, although no jazzmaster in the history of jizzmasters has had a seperate control plate. MAKES NO SINCE
