jag.uar.
story similar to paul's, although it doesn't begin as far back as when i was 10. shortly after i started playing as a teenager, i started reading up on all fenders, and the historical references to the jag all said it was their flagship, the cadillac of guitars. i didn't even know anything about scales and whatnot back then, but i knew all the chrome and switches meant it was versatile and expensive. i got addicted to the shape when i started playing my toronado which was followed by my avri jag purchase a couple years later. i know they're huge, but somehow the contours and grooves make it the most comfortable guitar i've ever played. . . hands down.

Practically, I like my '64/66 MusicMaster the best. No trem to give you tuning nightmares, and no switches to get in the way while picking (my Duo and Mustang switches annoy the hell out of me - and I only use the neck pup). My '65 Mustang is probably my favorite short scale guitar (I stop tailed it and recessed the neck pup switch). My '65 Jag holds a special place in my heart, though - Its just a little on the clunky side for stage use - although I love it dearly and do gig with it.
Anyways, old Musicmasters for me.

well, considering I've got a 66 mustang, a shadstang I put together and a 69 mustang bass it'd make sense to say mustangs. I am gassing for a Jag, tho.

I'll have to go with the Mustang, although I love the Jaguar for it's versatility. I started out on a sonic blue Mustang MIJ from the early 90's just like the ones Cobain preferred. I upgraded the bridge pickup to a Fender red Lace Sensor so I could get some humbucking sound, which was great for crunch tones, but it has a nice clean sound too.
bear with me, its my first post. i dont actually own a shortscale now but from what i've tried out i'd say i like the mustang for comfort plus the neck is just butter. I'd like to get a jag later down the road for the more versatile tones though. so ill be definitely getting a mustang soon. preferably olym white
