well, duh. fender wouldn't offer 5 different models of them (avri, cp, cp hh, hh special, baritone) if nobody wanted jags. i was more referring to their popularity with shortscale.org members. . . however, it should be pointed out that the cp models were only introduced in the last couple of years. it does seem to make sense that one would only offer more varieties of a product when there is demand to support it.
I had a valid reason. Whilst the Jag neck was poifect, the Bronco neck was ridiculously small for me.robroe wrote:everyone sold thier broncos to get teles. it made me sad. fuck yall' i still got both
i cant afford a jag and im not getting rid of my bronco or esquier
So I had to sell it based on the fact that I could barely fret it.

I do think it makes sense to say that the Jag is the new Tele since the latter used to be known as the unforgiving guitar which wouldn't give you anything for free, the one you had to fight but who would give a lot back once you mastered it...
This is at least part of what attracts me to the jag and what used to attract me to the tele (still am very attracted btw...)

never owned a tele, but i've played many. it's a much simpler instrument, but i think it's just as difficult to master. i think the jag's only difficult to get right in the setup, because after that. . . they just seem to play themselves. it's probably one of the more versatile guitars i've ever had.hwestman wrote:I do think it makes sense to say that the Jag is the new Tele since the latter used to be known as the unforgiving guitar which wouldn't give you anything for free, the one you had to fight but who would give a lot back once you mastered it...

I was thinking about that too but aren't there squiers with fender stamped rolled steel saddles? I think that's just the only kind they make. so if they're gonna use that bridge plate they use the fender one. it would be more expensive to start up a whole new production of non-fender stamped hardware.MatthewK wrote:'m fascinated by the bridge tho - it says "FENDER PAT PEND" which doesn't seem like it should be on a Squier.
