Ugh, forgot about those fuzz face types. For me, I would choose a different fuzz, rather than be forced to battery power it. BUt I'm not in need of a fuzz face type sound very often.

I just have DigiTech and Danelectro powersupplies and a 7 plug daisy chain I got on eBay for like $7.

My 80s Dist+ has one of the weird 1/8" phono jack power connections. my Atari 2600 powersupply seems to work pretty well for it.

it's positive ground. if you daisy chain it, it shorts all the other pedals to ground and vice versa.

It's because of the transistor type used. It can be "converted" to regular ground, but people say it loses the "Vintage M@J@"

LOL!

I do have a fuzz face, positive grounded, that I just kind of lumped into a trade, cause i wanted to facilitate said trade, and had never tried a fuzzface. It sounds all right, I guess, but not magical enough to fret over it's mojo content.

HOWEVER, there are like 300 verisons of the FF, so maybe some are cooler than ohters, and are worth it? the battery has lasted a long-ass time, too. the FF has become my "Oh, fuck, all my dirt pedals are at the space, I can't fucking rock.. oh hey, look at that ugly thing, OK, lets go." pedal.

They're definitely cool, the version Benecol put me onto with Contour and Bias controls (the Fulltone '69 tweak) sounds pretty ridiculously good. The contour control gives you lots of midrange back and some harmonics. it's phat.

Dear Mike; thanks for the heads up on johnnyshredthingummy; I ordered one of the last couple, and I very much appreciate you doing the groundwork. As does Gaia.
