Has to be the Catalinbread DLS.
I also love the Crunch Box for heavier stuff though.

I'm liking the Danelectro Cool Cat drive (OCD)... it seems to cover most of the sounds I'm after.
For Bass I use a Fuzz Face, or Sansamp GT2 which I recently sold.

you will be suprised, it keeps the low end, and adds a great "growl" to the overall tone of the thing. keep in mind im using a 99 mexi jazz bass neck pup only with tone all the way up.
Maybe I will. My bassist friend is fucking off to England, so I'll be baby sitting some gear for him. Yesterday I took delivery of this:
Still need a bass guitar though. He hasn't given me one yet.

I'm currently trying to decide what I actually want on my pedalboard, I like my NYC Big Muff but I want to sell that and get a green muff clone. I was also thinking about getting a TS808 but Mike's saltbooster seems very popular for pushing the amp distortion so I may get one of those.
Anyway, favourite dirt box = EHX BigMuff

Just got back from town where I bought myself this:
► Show Spoiler
SSAB
!!!!EVIRDREVO

It's Behringer's ODB clone. I shall go get batteries and fire it up at half time in this Newcastle match. I might to an A/B demo with the Boss version too.

Talking of Behringer pedals, has anyone here tried the Behringer Vintage Distortion? I've listened to some demos and it sounded a bit shit but it's supposed to be shockingly good for the price.

I had the vintage distortion for a little while... it's alright I think. Never had the original to compare it with though.
It's not true bypass so it'll effect your dry signal... you will lose some treble when its off.

The NYC BigMuff sucks tone in the same way so I wouldn't expect too much from the Behringer. That's one of the reasons my NYC is going to be replaced

I am really interested in this, please do this demo. Want a bass overdrive, do not want to pay boss money.

First impression is that it sounds a little bit fizzier and not as ballsy as the Boss, but I don't have the Boss here to check against. Also, I think that I was turning my amp up louder in my old house with the Boss than I am here, which will make a difference (Valve Junior Head, needs to be at at least a quarter up before the sound sort of, opens up or something). Still very, very good sounding. I suspect it might just take a bit of tweaking and that the pots aren't exactly the same as the Boss (I'd be shocked if they were).

it's great, it has an abrasive quality that you can't get with other muffs. i think i might be leaning towards liking my russian one more, but i can't decide. i keep meaning to do a proper side-by-side comparison, pick the one i like better, and get rid of the other. should i decide to sell it at some point, i'll give you first dibs.

If you should decide to sell it fairly soon, I'd be all over it if the price was right: otherwise, I see a Euthymia ICBM in my very near future...

it's shockingly crap. maybe it's just the one skip sent me (thx asshole - j/k) but i can't get it to sound good even as just an od. kills the sound too much.

I like beige box MXR Dist+
Don't really like anything that scoops mids or pretends to be an amp.

I have a self made MXR Dist+ and Big Muff, a DS-1 and the Behringer Sansamp GT2 clone, but really I cant decide if they are really my thing. So far I havent heard a dirt box where I was like "OMFG thats the one!" I just cant seem to find the one I want.
I've been thinking of giving a RAT or the MXR Doubleshot a try.
