BrE speakers pronounce the 'L' in "solder."
AmE speakers pronounce the word "sodder."
that clears it up. i'd never heard it pronounced 'sodder' before. that sounds like a south-east english insult. "oh jeremy, you're such a ruddy sodder!"
actually, don't mind me, i almost absent-mindedly poured some wine into my ashtray a second ago.
enjoying the documentary though.

It's a really good documentary. I'm glad it got posted... I actually may watch it again while I'm waiting for a few installs to finish.

I say "sodder" but it's okay cause I'm French, so suck it.

i'll have you know that scottish accents provide the clearest diction out of all the regions of the UK (excepting dialects). we say war, not waw. carbon, not cauhbn. the list is endless.
but yes, documentary, very good, very good...

perhaps... but my friend Steve married a girl from Glasgow and sometimes I'm forced to just smile and nod because I have no freaking clue what she's on about. The drunker she gets, the thicker the brogue.

hence the dialects comment. glaswegian accents are really annoying sometimes, even the posh ones.
