You must know it by now having played it and with the replies but that guitar is going to be a lot better than a Super Sonic. If you don't mind saying, how much did you play? Yours is a 1500? That sort of thing can go for an awful lot of money.

Gibson SG's bite the big one for tuning stability and balance.

These ones are much nicer. They finished the design work.

The supersonic was fun to play and I enjoyed it's oddball shape. Its just I had a local guy bugging me to sell it to him and so when this deal came up, it was an obvious way to raise capital fast. I wasn't trying to compare the two, as mentioned: There is no comparison aha. If I could have held off a week or two more I just would have bought the guitar outright without needing to flog the SS.
But the guy was threatening to take it the NZ ebay, TradeMe... and there's no way I'd be able to fend off bids.
in fact there's some guy trying to sell a lesser model SG there for twice the price. It's in a bit better shape.. but meh.

I bought the supersonic for 400$NZ, and sold it for the same, that's about 275$US.
The SG2000 was 800$NZ, or 550$US

So ridiculous deal. Yes.
The guy bought it cheaper than that I think which is why he was willing to let it go so cheaply, and he got it from a guy who bought it for 300NZ with an amp included!

It's heavier than any les paul I've played, and EDIT: wait, it's actually heavier than my Sonex, which is like 13 pounds or something retarded. I quite like heavy guitars though, whenever you strap them on its like: "BUSINESS TIME!"

SG2000 for 800$NZ/550$US/£350 - that's a contendor for deal of the year.

I had a Yamaha SG 1300t years ago, Floyd Rose style trem, locking nut, coil tap.

Like this one but with a black trem

I disagree, like all Gibsons they stay in tune perfectly. Also, the balance comes down to personal preference. I owned a Gibson SG Special that I had to sell but I really loved that guitar...
