Hmm. My 65RI is possibly the worst guitar I've ever owned for maintaining its tuning. I only tolerate it 'cos it drops down evenly about a semitone, but I really should get it sorted. I've considered locking down the vibrato, or perhaps simply replacing the vibrato springs. What do you think?
i got some springs from allparts (i think- it was ages ago) and they made the trem rock solid. like, doesn't move at all without the bar solid.

Vincel, I think you must have got a lemon - I remember you hated the switches also? They were really solid switchcrafts on mine.

Thanks, I'm going to give that a try.

It wasn't that I hated the switches, it was simply the case that the neck selector switch didn't fucking work at all!

I've seen a couple of 65RIs now, and none of them had Switchcrafts. Maybe the earlier models were better quality?

Despite all its shortcomings, I really enjoy my 65RI. I also have a Jazzmaster which, although it's a way better guitar, doesn't get played nearly as often as my Mustang.
