When I got my '74 Deluxe Reverb serviced, I was told to turn it on as you've mentioned, but when turning it off hit the power switch first then the standby. This is because the speaker 'pops' if you do it the other way round. Not a problem at low volumes, but could damage it if cranked.Thom wrote:Ok, so switch both power and standby switches to off.
