Man those electric XIIs are GAS inducing like nothing else. Too bad they're rare and way too expensive for me.
Probably end up just building one.

that was a lot of money back then. according to this inflation calculator, what cost $119.50 in 1956 would cost $936.52 in 2008! the extra $30 for the additional pickup was the equivalent of an extra $235.11 bringing it up to $1171.63 for the duo sonic!westtexasred wrote:

I don't think you can just use that type of calculation. These were student models and were clearly more affordable than that.mage wrote:that was a lot of money back then. according to this inflation calculator, what cost $119.50 in 1956 would cost $936.52 in 2008! the extra $30 for the additional pickup was the equivalent of an extra $235.11 bringing it up to $1171.63 for the duo sonic!westtexasred wrote:

That plus stores would extend credit to anyone, my then 10yr old uncle bought a strat in '62 without his parents even knowing about it. I think he paid something like $10 a month for it. They eventually found out and ate him, but my point is still valid.Remember the 50s were a massive boom period in the US Economy.

which suggests they were almost equivalent to an AVRI at today's prices (if you accept their calculations).foam green jazzmaster, 1964 retail: $366.97
(today's money: $2020)
value of 1964 example now: $4000
