I feel the same way about bands like Switchfoot, POD and Red. You have to be a good band first and foremost. I am a Christian and I want musicians who are Christians to make good art so they can be relevant and not the butt of a joke. The band Chevelle actually started out a Christian band, but have gone in a different direction it seems. They can really wail!endsjustifymeans wrote:Mewithoutyou is the only "christian crossover" band I think is really viable. Though they're not so much a crossover band as a hardcore band that happens to be christian. I love'm regardless though.

Too late. I already completely dismantled it. I don't want to know what it sounded like. IT WAS SO FUCKERED. Extra body cavities were not enough, no. Under the pick guard was the real agony. It was like opening a guitar case and finding live snakes covered in human feces and remains. I will show pics tomorrow.

Top left (L to R):
Weird plate, messed up guard; neck matches cavity including peeling nitro hunk. Original paint was sunburst.
Second row:
Cleaned for routing; infestation; piece of milk jug nailed in bottom; 20 extra screw on guard holding nothing; DiMarzio (to be sold).
Third row:
Back scratch fever--very rough surface reveals burst and Fullerplast; mystery plate; OHNOZ screwdriver; mystery plate reveals moar termite holes.
Bottom:
Gotoh hell; Frankenstein orthodontia and top hook(!); one enlarged hole; real Fender neck at least; new electronics with GIGANTO cap.

EX-T-REEM CLOSE UP
1. Plastic nailed inside for shielding? Steampunk wet dream?
2. Swimming pool hack rout covered in quarter inch Elmer's Glue pit
3. Phallic worm-hole drilled through the body to back hole (5) for onboard FX?
4. Extra space for christ-knows-waht. Place to store nickels?
Existing bridge set up with cheapo Gibson-style ABS. Pulled out thumb screws--will replace with Mustang bridge or similar. String-through holes filled with black wax, commonly used for furniture filler. Good news: holes are now clear, have brass plates, long pointy knob, string tree.
To do: Rout holes to smooth shape, fill with ash or alder blocks. Sand and sand and sand. Decide on color--prefer something flashy. It does not strike me as a solid color model. Have seen CAR, Placid, IBM, white, or burst. Would also consider silver, gold, copper. Using white guard.
Issues: Need proper bridge, some kind of back plate. May be able to cut and drill mystery plate to fit in back.
