Yeah you got a good point with that. To me the only person who uses the wah the way I really liked it was Frank Zappa only because it just added to the weird tones he was already getting.

Hey Kim you ever listen to japanese psycher's High Rise?

They remind me of Fu Manchu played at ridiculous speed. I imagine the wah abuse would drive you nuts though.
Probably a big influence on Boris.

As for the wizard, yeah, Jus is pretty much FZ-2 > Loudass Sound City Amp, and Liz just turns every knob on her Laney to ten.
They did use expensive Matamps to record Let Us Prey, if I recall correctly. Probably now pawned for weed.

Part of the EW tone is totally the octave bouncing between notes when they let chords decay, that's that sinister sounding rumble. With the FZ-2 you can just shake the strings and your amp starts throbbing. Superfuzzes do the same thing but the FZ has a nastiness to it that sounds sorta industrial and glitchy. It's that "ah fuck here it comes" bit at the beginning of many songs.

Nice demo. Makes me want to buy a ring mod. mmm

Aye, very nice demo; different enough from a Superfuzz for me to still want one.
