Guitar Reissue Dreams

a coronado reissue would probably be more expensive than a vintage one, and they're not especially rare. but i suppose ebay's your only option unless you fancy selling a kidney to pay denmark street prices (or the US equivalent).

an electric XII reissue would get thumbs up from me. they could produce a reasonably priced japanese version easily, i'm sure.

A high priced re-issue would drive the price of the original up a shitload too. This is why I'm essentially against Fender reissuing any more guitars. The prices on reissue offsets and shortscales these days are obscene, Gibson-like prices.

Ironically I see electric XII's on Denmark St for reasonable prices all the time as noone wants one. They had one in Angel Music and they get them in all the time they said.

Any post '64 duosonic or musicmaster design. A duo II would be the shit, but it'll never happen because I'm sure it would cannibalize sales of Mustangs.

And the Squier Bronco bass should just be reconfigured to have the musicmaster pickguard.

funny, i was eyeballing an inca silver one they had on their site a while back. if i'm being honest, i'd have to be in a seriously unusual position before i'd buy a 12 string, for all the use it would get.

my mate's dad had a XII and he traded it for a 60s les paul sometime in the late 70s (bet the guy he traded with is kicking himself now). he said in the days before proper tuners they were an absolute nightmare so he never really used it.

I would hope for the Super Sonic to be reissued, but at the same time, I don't want it, because it wouldn't be as cool a guitar if everyone had one.

Also, a Electric XII reissue in both left and right would be great, so someone could get a left handed XII neck and make a Super Sonic XII

Compstangs neeed to be reissued, even though they are still offered in Japan.

Along with a Bass V with 34'' Scale

and i want REAL blocks, not that painted on shit that they did for the geddy lee jazz bass.
i like the coro II guitar and bass idea,
but i would want them to do it authentic to the og. non of that flat radius big fret poly finish crap.

TBH, I can't think of anything that Fender have ever made that needs to be brought back. An AV Mustang or Duo would be kinda cool, but I wouldn't buy one, and the Japanese reisses are pretty good. I do like Coronados, but vintage examples are still affordable. The Lead series guitars are unremarkable.

that's the thing. most everything they haven't reissued you can't get vintage for a decent price. certainly no more than they would sell the reissues for.

Maybe instead of a reissue, that could do what they have done with CP Jaguars. Use the Classic Player or Classic Vibe type series.

It's only a matter of time before Fender do a "classic player" stang or something for teh kurdtzies, with a more stable bridge and hotter pickups... but given the poor sales of both runs of Jag-Stang I bet they don't put as much stock in Cobain's influence on the guitar playing community as they used to (although you could argue all the HH jags they've done negate that notion).
