all your bronco needs is a lot of love and a rewiring. wether to keep the humbucker is your call. i like humbuckers but i never liked the look of full sized ones on the mustang style bodies. definately not a waste of cash though

I took it apart, was slightly surprised at the routing. Looks like a half decent job? Very sharp clean edges, probably done with a chisel by a skilled person?

The electrics confuse me; 1 mini pot, 1 full size a stacked pot and a 2 way toggle.

I plugged it in, all the pots seem to be volume controls, if you wind any 1 down you get no sound at all!
The toggle gives a bassy or trebbly tone, so probably a pickup selector.
I tried the tapping the pickups with a screwdriver and got nothing.
Does anybody know what that square thing is hanging off that mini pot? Is it another cap?

Anyway I've ordered a pickguard blank from ebay. When that arrives I'll be making a new stock-style item.
Oh, and I'll be getting new pots too.

that wiring is crazy. at least the routing isn't too bad, it'd be a piece of piss to return it to stock if you wanted.
