if you'd have learnt yr star trek you'd know that what we have right here is a potential abnomaly in time and space and this can be expressed in the following equation:dezb1 wrote:can't be GAY Dano Hates the GAYNESSBlack Cat Bone wrote:GAY
[edit] it is fuckin Hideous
anti-gay + gay / perm * cool heroin period = BLACKHOLE MATRIX SHIT HAPPENING. Bascally the worst bits of the bible and SPock will meet his mum as a teenager and bone her a bit thus becoming his own father. Damn you Clapton!
I'd buy it for 50 quid.

Clapton did endorse Enoch Powell and later attempted to brush it off because he was drunk. He inspired the formation of the rock against racism movement, I think.
In short, he's a cunt, and this is an awful guitar entirely fitting of such a massive prick. The only Danelectro I'm upset about not being able to buy is the new Hornet reissues. Beyond that, I'm over Danelectro. I used to be their biggest fan.

I would not want this Danelectro.
However, I do like "the fool" Gibson SG...
As far as Clapton goes, in my opinion he's pretty much a one trick pony. He was never a great song writer, and as far as his guitar playing goes it's mostly done in the same tempo using blues scales and bends in a horrible mid-range tone.
Whenever someone brings up Clapton I am forced to bring up Peter Green. As far as Guitarists from this era go I don't think you can get any better than Peter Green. He could do all the blues rock stuff but then also wrote some stunning compositions like "Albatross", "Man of the World", "Green Manalishi", and of course "Black Magic Woman". On the latter you can hear evidence that he could do the face melting solos, and you can hear evidence of his blues skills on his stuff with John Mayall, but Peter Green was all about evolution and Clapton just kept playing the same record over and over.
Here's some youtubes... watch how he evolves over time
"Some day after a while" (this recorded with John Mayall, just after Clapton left the group. He nails Clapton at his own game)

"Need Your Love So Bad"

"Oh Well"

"Black Magic Woman"

"Albatross" (this was a tribute of sorts to Santo and Johnny's "Sleepwalker")

"Man of the World" (please excuse the crappy images, best link I could find of the original recording)

"Green Manalishi" (made this right before he left Fleetwood Mac)
