The pickup is called a Velvet Hammer and it has a tone she loves. It was made by a fellow named Red Rhodes, who made pickups for guitars and steels, he was a steel player himself.

I have always loved that guitar. It was made by Hamer, not Gibson. They called it a standard or something like that and not an explorer and a bunch of famous people played them in the late 70's/early 80's. I have always wanted a guitar just like that.
