tis all good in any case, I was just trying to avoid the inevitable rush of PM's and responses. No big deal. We will see. After this all blows over I might be more willing to take the time to break guitars down and re-ship (with the new pricing since broen down, I could do UPS, not USPS. BUt my gut tells me between the bad luck to this point and the upcoming ankle surgery I just prefer to avoid the hassle.

I remember when UPS lost my 1964 Fender Jaguar, they had no idea where it was. I was seriously ready to petrol bomb their depot, or pay someone to do it should i say. Bastards. Fuck couriers. Here they strike again.

I remember this atrocity:
A guitar signed by some of the biggest names in rock music has been lost in the post.

Eric Clapton, Queen’s Brian May, Jimmy Page and Dire Straits front man Mark Knopfler were among some of the musicians who agreed to add their signatures to a Fender Stratocaster to raise funds in aid of a hospital for terminally ill children.

Music promoter Dave Allen had spent nearly a year collecting signatures, and had hoped to raise 20,000 pounds for kid’s charity Rainbows in Loughborough, Leics, by auctioning the guitar.

Oh yeah. Apparently it was on some lorry. They told me i could go pick it up twice (15 miles away) and let me down both times. The second time i was fuming, so they tried an old trick.. sent the fittest girl down from the office to explain to me they could'nt find it in some lame attempt i'd be more pre-occupied in trying to get in her knickers than picking my guitar up. Idiots.

thats literally mental how you get massive corporations which are supposed to be good at the stuff they do, and cant even perform the simplest of tasks. boggles my mind.
some delivery companies are horrendous. i once had a tele shipped to mine, it was pretty obvious that the parcel contained a fairly expensive guitar. i was home at the time of the delivery, and didnt even notice it because the douchebag driver just left the box on my doorstep without even ringing the doorbell. it was sitting in the rain for about an hour and a half.

Hmmm. I dunno, I wouldn't mind getting the guitar, but I was only really buying it because it was so cheap. I'll take whatever's easier for you Mickie? You prefer a refund?

personally yes. I do not trust USPS at this point and shipping via other means costs too much. That, along with me going back in for more surgery coming up (not sure of date yet) andprobably being out of touch a good bit coming up means I would prefer to have all of this out of the way ASAP. That said, I can try again.

I'm in the same boat as Gavin, and would be happy with a refund as I need to pad up the bank balance because this finding work lark is a pain the effing arse.

hey mickie, I have stewed over this since last night. I feel sick for you I really do. I can't imagine how pissed off you are at the current situation. trying to do a good deed and it all turning pair shaped especially with your current situation. I have hung out with you and your family and I really couldn't think of a less deserving person for this shit to happen too.
I think I can separate myself slightly from the others as this was a different deal than the due's albeit a fucking bro deal! My first answer would be yeah give refund and forget about it. But to be honest I think I would still rather have the guitar. I sold my fuzz factory to fund the guitar and to not have anything to show for it would be a shame as that pedal really turned me on to my love of effects. Getting the money back I would just end up spending it on food and junk and it would be a bit of a waste.

So yeah if you could get it sent out again I would appreciate it. I do have concerns though, have you seen the guitars again? or would you before they were sent off? If you could check on it/them before it/they were sent out I would really appreciate it. With them being stuck in transit/storage for 2 months I would like to check they were still in one piece/the temp differences hadn't taken there tole on the wood etc

Also with you going into surgery soon, if you get the tracking numbers up on the forum or in pm's we could keep an eye on them ourselves and not have to bother you about where they are?

cheers once again mickie

normally in this situation i would just say take it to a different post office in the next town....but it seems to be that the outgoing operation in NJ hates guitars as well.

so now you got 2 asshole post offices being dicks and one you have no control over.

its weird...im wondering how much shit this place in NJ ships overseas....im guessing alot of shit from americans ends up there with the intent getting out of the country.....so they probably deal with large boxes all the time which is stupid. i could see your little rinky dink post office in carlsbad not wanting to dick with 7 or 8 giant boxes but not this joint in NJ.

makes no sense

the thing with the NJ post office is that the original post office accepterd the packages with what turned out to be incorrect postage (even though it was quoted by the post office). A CSR told me when I called i could pay the shipping difference and get them sent on, which I did. turns out they don't, or at least did not in my case, allow that and the guitars were returned to sender as undeliverable.

This is not he first time I have had major issues with USPS and am unlikley to ever try to ship anything of size overseas again since UPS and Fed Ex are too expensive and USPS just is not reliable. For smaller packages UPS and Fed Ex are not too bad, but larger ones they are ridiculous. (like 150 USD to sip the guitars and more...)
