As for the jack not fitting through the plywood, you can drill a bigger hole (bigger than the nut for the jack) halfway through the plywood so it's sunken in.
Fabric at a fabric store is really cheap for a few yards. They even have stuff that looks like it should be used for this purpose in mine. They also have a lot of tolex-type stuff in different colors and textures that's pretty cheap also. Nothing like a big tattooed guy going into a fabric shop with all the old ladies and picking up a few yards of fabric!
Lucky about that cheap tolex stuff; I'll look around.

How can I make a handle for free?
Strips of leather from an old belt? + washers & pan-head or round-head wood screws?

I don't know about free but maybe some handles off some old luggage? Might have to get some old luggage at a thrift store.

Here goes. Suggestions? It's nifty, you don't need to solder wires to the speaker, they have little caps that pinch the wire.

Ubolts and shoe laces! Get really long laces and loop them several times between the two U bolts. If you wanna get fancy you can then wrap more lace around the bulk of rope. I have a case in my garage that I did that for, I'll see if I can get to it to take pictures (my garage is scary right now).

Depends where you fancy doesn't it, I can't really guage the size of it, but if it's big I'd go for one in each side and I think that'd look tider and make things less likely to fall in the top?

It's pretty enormous for a 1x12. 24" wide. I'm liking the handle on the side idea, though. My priority now should be cover the speaker before something smashes it in.

Bugera is fixed tomorrow. PICS + Demo? I'm excited!

In typical fed ex fashion, they are late. NO amp. fuuuu. slightly ruined weekend and made band practice a bit of a joke. I covered the front with 'hardware cloth' or something... and added feet and a handle. pic update:

I cut it out, then used a staple gun to attach it to the wood, it came out the this. + feet.

Image

Here's the handle, I had to put it on the side so heads will fit on top, makes carrying it a lil' bit akward but it works well. CLASSY..

Image

I even twirled and taped the wiring

Image

My one worry is vibrations at loud volumes, but we'll see on monday.

How far do the feet come down from the bottom of the cab?

ha! ^

So, I got the bugera, and its pretty sweet. problem being: the metal stuff rattles at loud volumes, but when I put my foot against it it stops. Will cloth be able to dampen this? or what can i do?

I think ill do a quick demo tomorrow schoolwork permitting.

What does it rattle against? You could screw it down tighter, or as you say, put some cloth between the metal and what it's rattling against.

 Didn't recognize you iconless -- I think the problem lies in the screws holding the speaker on. They are now flat, so the metal screen is pushed out a bit by them.

Also, is there such thing as a clear coat spray paint? I'd like to make it a bit more heavy duty for the time being.
