All the non TB EH pedals I have used are noisy in bypass mode. They have been TBing their pedals for quite some time now. Maybe they figured out the noise issue or saw everyone TB their fx.
I was using a battery with it.

Its not noisy, its actually boosting the signal and adding a bunch of low frequencies which make it muddy and overdriven in bypass mode.

It really sounds like the effect is "leaking" into the bypass signal but in a very ugly, non-musical way. The pedal sounds great when switched on however.

I am pretty sure TBing this thing will do the trick.
thanks for all the input dudes

I have no technical input to add whatsoever, but I was playing mine this afternoon and I fucking love it.

Tell a lie - look here.

i used this one. i found adding an led unnecessary as i didn't want to drill a hole and it really isn't hard to tell when the effect is engaged.

Just use a DPDT to bypass it as its leaking signal into your clean.
Use my method of wiring, its superior to others you find on the web and the above one posted.
Its the only way I wire my pedals and is especially useful for smallstones and other modulation effects that oscillate in TB mode without grounded input. And it sure beats the non TB SPDT switch you new muff has.

BTW, I have a 78 V5 IC BMP, its great.

The one on the left(as it don't have an LED):

Or you could go for Millenium Bypass. Woot.

I always use input grounded schemes. It makes a whole lot more sense to me than pulldown resistors.

Sense it does make indeed. 8)
PD resistors are still handy for switching "pop", 4M7 does the job without causing other problems.
These can be soldered directly on the input jack from in to Ground.

That means your pedal ain't True Bypass though. I don't find I ever need them.

Input grounding and correct power and LED filtering takes care of it.

Technically, yes it does and the new EHX NANO stuff with ferrite beads in the bypassed signal isn't either but 4M7 is not even noticeable and its still wired as TB and the amount of signal you loose to ground isn't even audible.

This is just my experience with a bunch (like 5 maybe) of pedals and results may vary from person to person. I have interwebz friends who have had problems with different value PD's though that's why I use 4M7 when necessary.

I find it unnecessary 99% of the time too.
