I think brass can but im not sure about other metals. When i was a kid them surf green roofs you see on some old buildings in cities used to fascinate me, i only learnt years later they were copper that had oxidised.

I always wonder what those buildings must have looked like new, with the shiny copper roofs. They must have been blinding on a sunny day.

It looks pretty wack but only for a few days. They "recently" re-roofed the library annex of the Canadian Parliament.
This is what it looks like after being on for a couple days. you can see it's already started to oxidize.
it starts going green after a few years. They put the new roof on while I was still living there, about 6 years ago. Last I checked, it still looked like this:

Looking at this again, I really like the mahogany veneer on the headstock.
