I'm going to answer my own question: Rondo Music. They sell a LH Douglas Peragros: 24" scale on a full size body with 1+ 5/8" nut. It'll need upgrades, but for $99 I've finally got a starting point.

You could buy a Squier Super-Sonic and flip it over.
