Would those GFS pickups be a 'upgrade' ?
GFS alcino 'vintage' wound p90

yes..
sorry, I am messing a topic, but does installing a bigsby add some sustain?
/some questions Ive been aching to ask,but making a new topic would be too crazy/
not sure about the bigsby, never really tried one. i've found this sustains really well as it is.

as for the pickups, again i don't really know. some peeps on here have the GFS p90s, don't know if they have those particular ones though. the one's people have got though have really liked them.

Which shop?
We must have been thinking the same things without knowing, i recently got an old Aria Pro II semi myself. Yours wins the beauty contest hands down though.
i know what you mean, fran. there's something about the semi stuff at the moment. really wanted to get a nice one.

Foulds in derby, it's where i've got nearly everything i've owned from. they look after me and give me good deals. they have a nice selection of semi's and fender stuff. plus a dedicated jazz guitar section. don't carry much in the way of amps, but they have a bit of fender and orange stuff.

it's really light, completely hollow.

Mine too. It has a small support under the bridge and that's it, thin neck as well.
When you bringing it over?

Hold up there old thing: I'm pretty sure that regular P90s and Casino P90s are actually different sizes.

ok, so i've taken it to practise and played it most of the week. this thing sounds great. really nice full clean sound, plenty of sparkle with chords and arpeggio stuff. turning up the wick, you get that nice crunch for rhythm work and some lighter solo sounds. it does feedback, but in a nice way and is controllable. standing too close to your amp will give you the not so nice feedback. the action is quite low, lower than any guitar i've played. but means you can zip up and down the fretboard really easliy. makes you play stuff you wouldn't normally play(started played frankenstein by edgar winter with all the tricky twiddles, can't do that on my strat! :D )

only negative was the ring of the strings behind the bridge, which i've since fixed with a strip of foam kinda stuff. now all is good.

can't wait to gig it, it's gonna sound great next to the strat/tele. definitely recommend peerless, top quality and sounds great.
