He can shred on those things? Oddly enough i've never heard of that model ever. It looks like one of their strange 80's experimental guitars.
EDIT: Andddd it looks like i was right. Produced 1981-84. it would be interesting to hear someone shred on that thing, hell it would be interesting to hear myself shred on that thing.
I'm nearly certain it was one of these. I only seen one of his when I was about fifteen and much less observant. He described it as a "Gibson strat that they made for a while in the eighties."

He was a fucking ballbag though. I got about four lessons off him when I was fifteen. In those three weeks he taught me the first half of the Whiskey In The Jar solo. I got impatient in and taught myself the more difficult second half in about a day. That's when I realised I didn't need lessons.

Subtle. You mean the Authentic Hendrix LLC Strat made by Gibson?

Whatever happened to that anyway? I notice the packaging in the linked article shows Jimi playing a Strat where the previous article I saw had packaging showing him playing a Flying V.....

well, gibson can't use an image of him playing a strat to sell a strat rip-off.

the other day, when this thread was resurrected, i actually google imaged it, looking for him playing one of these (even though it looks like a total 80's axe), and literally the first search results were mezzio's avatar, and that pic that WTR posted.

haha yeah, I can't believe only you and josh realized I was joking. but good question. I think the budget models were actually on the market at some point but the I don't know what happened to the higher level one they were supposed to make. maybe they decided to axe it since it was so universally derided.

Thanks much!
I know its your first post and all, but please dont post in threads from February.

Fucking classic! HAHAHAHAHA!!

Sweet guitar. Friend of mine had one of these back in the day and it plays really nice. Tons of different tones in this guitar. Really cool.

LAL @ no one getting Mages joke. I thought it was funny. It's as if no one remembers the hilarity when Gibson tried to release the Hendrix Strat.

We only had 9000 posts about it. I think that one went down in history as the ultimate "There's already a thread about this" topic.

In fairness, I think Fran did about 8980 of those posts in one night, and they were gone by the next morning.
