Yes, they are bridge and middle Strat pickups. They are wired so they are both on at all times. There is a volume and tone knob, with a kill switch.

I'm guessing it was 20 gauge aluminium or so. It was an old hood range, so I am not exactly sure of the thickness. I use these same shears to cut copper that thickness as well.
Actually, I meant 24 gauge.

I just checked out your web site...beautiful work! You're clearly an artist. I love the poppies and the copper purse and utility boxes are rad too. Love the cat stand (and the cat).

And, I hope you don't mind me mentioning this, but your web site says you are legally blind. Wow, you, sir, are truly an amazing fellow! I have 20/20 vision and I can't come up with anything a fraction as nice as your projects. You ROCK, dude!

Absolutely stunning guitar. I think the extension guard behind the pickup really dresses it up.
Awesome work, dude.

so a strats' top horn has enough depth to be cut into a tele horn? that's some useful knowledge, easy contoured tele or sweet aluminum covered guitar.

no, he kept the neck and bought a new GFS telecaster body which he then proceeded to cover in aluminium.

Thanks guys,

Yes, it's just one of those cheap, lightweight bodies from GFS. Most of the hardware, electronics and neck are leftover from the Strat.

The motorcycle and plane are pretty much the same thing as the race cars, so they all look alike; I think. All of them are very attractive. I would like to make more guitars using aluminium, specifically a Jaguar-shaped guitar. I think that would represent the silver arrows a lot better than a Telecaster.

As for my eyesight, yes, I am legally blind in one eye, and blind in the other. I try to not exploit it, or even mention it to anyone in person as I think it might creep some people out; but people have told me that it should be mentioned on my site.

the fucking neck screws look awesome in the diamond pattern! loev it still
I haven't really worked on the action too much, yet. It's a little higher than normal, but I might keep it that way. I use this in a "band" called Bones Esquato, where my rule is "never tune your guitar", while the top string is usually dropped as low as possible. I'm either playing ridiculously low things, or ridiculously high annoying solos (example) while nothing is planned which usually results in a 40-minute song or something. Haha. The other Mike in the band, and the awful Zoom-707 (renamed Zoom-666) drum machine keeps the music together (somewhat). This is a fun project that I have had for the past ten years. I started it in high school to take a shot at so many awful things that were happening in my school, and music in general; but we still get together every so often to jam. It is what ever you want to get out of listening to it, I guess.

The neck screws had to be that way because of the body and neck holes not lining up. I figured I would just do it that way rather than going through the trouble of plugging the old holes. Even though this is a pretty guitar, it's still just a beater guitar to me.
