thanks for the welcome guys! I also usually not into red guitars or pearloid pickguards, but the competition Mustangs seem to be an exception for me. :)

one thing i noticed is that the neck pickup alone does not sound much different than both pickups on and in phase.

This makes me feel like it is not really necessary to have two slider switches to get all the sounds I need. My thought is that I can wire the bridge pickup to be always on. And then wire the neck pickup to be In Phase/Off/Out Phase. It'd be easy to do.

The main reason that I would want to do this is that the switch closest to the neck is in the way of my strumming. I can play but when i really start rawking out I start hitting the switch with my hand! If I got rid of it and rewired the other switch, I would be back in business. :D

there's a thread that james posted HERE detailing how to lower the switches with longer screws, i did it with the neck switch on my duo sonic but haven't got round to doing it with my mustang. it's worth it though.

yea i did see that and that may solve my problem. i need to try it and see if it is still easy to move the switch. If not, i may end up swapping switch positions since it is the neck position that i need to change whereas i tend to leave the bridge alone.
