I hadn't ever noticed gaps between the Mustang saddles until i read this thread.
So i pulled out a few different guitars with different types of Mustang/Jaguar bridges and took some pics.

This is a original bridge on a '66 Mustang

This is a Wormoth modified Mustang bridge on a Jaguar, i really like this bridge.

So, out of all the Mustang type bridges i have, the only one to have gaps is the RI Comp stang.
I never noticed it, so i guess its not really a problem.

My '69 RI didn't have gaps either (95 model) until I put 'tusq' saddles on, now it has gaps.. but at least I can adjust it properly now and the gaps don't bother me, I've noticed no movement.
