I hadn't ever noticed gaps between the Mustang saddles until i read this thread.
So i pulled out a few different guitars with different types of Mustang/Jaguar bridges and took some pics.
This is a original bridge on a '66 Mustang

This the stock bridge on a '96 Mustang RI

Stock bridge on a 2002 Comp Stang-nasty gaps!

This is a Wormoth modified Mustang bridge on a Jaguar, i really like this bridge.

Stock bridge on a 2003 Jazzmaster.

So, out of all the Mustang type bridges i have, the only one to have gaps is the RI Comp stang.
I never noticed it, so i guess its not really a problem.
