Aye, really good guitars: one of the first guitars to be CNC manufactured, all made in the USA, clever blend thing on the pickups. I'd love one. They can be picked up for tuppence h'apenny on US eBay, they have great looking cases, and I love the neckplate on them too. They do tend to weigh a metric fuckton, however. Think Pens (maybe) had one for sale a while back.

the "G" in the model number denotes ibanez's "Gio" line which is like their squier. so there are AXs as well, like the AX120 which has a dot and bound neck and the headstock looks more like a proper ibanez artist headstock. basically the AX/GAXs are like an SG version of the ibanez artist.
This is awesome. I had no idea how the Ibanez named these guitars.
Look at this..... AXS42TKF!!! What a mouthful. Very nice. Inlays might be overkill.

I had one of those Ibanez GAX70's from around 2000-2001. It was the most horrid piece of shit ever. Zero sustain, sounded like a tin can, no tuning stability. I see them in every guitar store ever now, maybe they've gotten a little better?

Imo the Ibanez GAX 70 pwns everything in its price range. ac88 must have got a duffer.
There are some good older models around too like Westone Thunder models and Westbury Standards which i'd put up against cheaper Gibsons anyday.

I'm kicking myself now for not picking up one of those GAX with detuner when they were being blown out for like 90 bucks.

Aye, i had the GAX 75 and always regretted selling it. They show up on ebay now and then but they're always in that awful grey color.

I usually play a Telecaster or a Riviera so I’m not big on comfort, I don’t do body contours!
Only joking I find the 335 style pretty comfortable

hmmm, people have been playing guitars with no contours for a century without getting abrasions on their arm. you might want to try adjusting how you play hotrod. if not just for that particular guitar.
