I'd go for the original '69. If the '62 weren't a refinish and lacking original hardware, that would be the route I'd go, though.
1969 was a good year. Comparable to 1965 in the Fender world. The first year of the "takeover" of Norlin (looked at similarly as CBS for Fender).
I have a 1969 Les Paul, and it is a phenomenal guitar. That was the last of the great years at Gibson in my opinion (and many others, too).
