Shush.

Mickie got a good deal on this and spread the love to the shortscale community, of which Pat is a very loved member. This is a nice story come full circle and the pictures and Pat's comments are well worth the threadspace - far moreso than your comment.
nicely said mike, and deeply appreciated! :D and, good to have you back... this place was quite a bit different w/o you!

Matt, yes it's a 100% stock (except that early 70s volume pot i put in there) jag-stang. but it MEANS much more than "just another one" to me. but you prolly wouldn't understand, so i'll just leave it here.

Pat.
i understand. i used to have the kurdtz. now what does that volume pot do?

mike it's been a few years since i've last toldyou to eat a bag of baby dicks. motherfucker.

Wrong.

Some are okay stock, its an old debate but there seemed to be some inconsistency certainly as far as the electronics are concerned. Besides, the fact its usually that one thing that people upgrade is a good and makes it no different to a CIJ Jaguar, or most Japanese Fenders.

Charming. You come into a nice thread in the info section and act like a petulant child, and now this.

Well done - you're a shining beacon of light and positivity.

Matt.. i dont think Pat has teh kurdtz (the thread title is a joke), have you seen his collection? He bought it because its an Offset he'd never owned and like'd what he had read about the neck etc.

i was thinking of swapping out the pups, even before i got/played it. but by golly i was pleasantly surprised by the way it sounds NOW.
no mods for now.
just, pure rock!

Pat.

The neck pickup in particular is fantastic. And the humbucker sounds great in other guitars, so depending on how the body of yours is (they vary) it could also sound pretty ace in the Jag-Stang itself.

The one I had wasn't great but Fran says he has owned examples which sound great and I believe him.

YES! Not enough love for the neck pickup on the JS, it's all I use! It has a very nice dark fender jangle, very thick. Spend some time with it before you decide to drop money on a new one. I believe the bridge pickup needs replacing though, the stock one is very, very dull.

Thanks Mike, i'm on my 6th model and still can't pinpoint why some sound like shite.

i use the neck pup too, most of the time. or both on.
when playing clean, the bridge pup sounds a bit "shrill" and midd-y... but with od/dist/fuzz it sounds like hell's bells. killer ace.

i'm not much of a humbucker guy, really, but geez i've been missing out on these for far too long!

Threads like this make me really want to build my own jagstang. The guitar looks great. Sonic Blue is such a sexy color. nice find.

Teh long story.
I think those things are so goddamned ugly, I'd have to close my eyes to play one burned or not! (Your mileage may very)

Just curious, is it safe to assume you intend to dig up every old thread on this site by next week?

Woah I never realized just how thick the finish is on these guitars. Anyway congrats on the purchase, hope it serves you well!
