Sounds like a Master Charger jam session. SG>Big Muff>Thor 120w Valve Head with occasional LPB. I think the tuning/string gauge is more important here, sounds like they are down to C, is that about right?

probably, but that's it, i get close with the regular fuzz on tgd, only when muting it acts like a second instrument instead of a normal non shizophrenic pedal. lol
also when recording (which is mostly at night) i really cannot use my amp and crank it...really not.

i palm-muted w/ my TGD all afternoon w/ the GAIN knob at 9 O'Clock. everything else was DIMED. looks like mama just wants a neu dirt pedal.

I know the Blue Box is gated, are your other pedals? The gate can respond differently to pick attack so palm muting will confuse things.

i think you palm muted with something else all after noon and keep doing it instead of posting nonsense here
but yeah, maybe i'm just lusting after new gear. i sort of felt bored with my pedalboard i think and felt like i'm using the same tricks all the time, it's not cool.

the fuzz i have just made for myself doesn't sound a million miles from the boris tune. i'll demo it in a bit and if you want one i'll knock one up for €30

Kim, see if you can get someone to rustle you up a Toecutter. There's an audio sample at the link; sounds amazing, I reckon.

not that i don't like its sound but it's not this thing i have in my head that opening first chord on akuma is so close to it it sounds more open that this fuzz, so i think it's more heading towards distortion, it's more fuzzy than just a pushed amp too somewhere inbetween fuzz and distortion. i'm too broke right now anyway to spend more than 100 on an effect, i'm interested in that demo chisa.
fran's probably right just a really loud amp pushed with some distortionish fuzz à là big muff. it's probably also a lot to do with the acoustics of the room where it was recorded in soundwaves just hitting around the place creating this sort of buzzing effect that makes it sound so massive.
i think if my hangover is not too bad i'll spend tomorrow being a nerd trying to get a similar sound out of my pedalboard, just sucks i can't use my amp for recording, lack of mics and right gear, lack of sound isolation OR deaf neighbors.

to be honest it sounds to me like a big fuzzy amp being recorded too loud so you're getting some saturation on the actual recording.
there's just a little bit of extra rawness there.

i can get a similar sound with my behringer super fuzz (mod1) with a booster/rat before it, or with my danelectro fuzz with a booster before. I use the plane ticket plus, so it's basically 2 boosters. So, i think a "normal" bassy buzz with lots of boost going into it can get you some similar sounds. Tomorrow i'll mess around with my pedals a little and see how close i can get, and get back to you.
Boris rules btw, it's a fact.

Honestly, the Devi Ever Torn's Peaker boosted with that TGD would kill. I'm not sure how intimidated you are with building, but she's selling DIY kits for cheap on her etsy account. You provide the jacks, pots, enclosure and power supply. It's really easy for first builds since she has the schematics on the site. I bought two circuits an enclosure and the necessary parts for 80 dollars.
Here's the endless feedback you requested.

torn speaker feedback is nice, it's a mic'd amp demo though, sp3k, that's why i feel so stupid i sold the big muff ! should've never sold it, i bought it secondhand so it looked scratched up and i had a pornbloopers sticker on it, i only have the wooden obx from it now ...the reason i sold it was it sounded cool on its own i loved it but got lost in the mix with a band. i think in the future i will keep my eyes on secondhand sites and see if maybe those green big muffs come by.

the 'new' US big muff but one of the earlier ones it came in a wooden box, but not the more exspensive 70's opamp one, i see those pretty frequent on secondhand sites they go for around 100eur here, they supposed to have less 'scoop' than the non opamp ones. never tried the russian black one, have heard the green one when someone brought one to doogfest, it was nice, but you don't see them often here.
