13s on my SuperSonic. Anything less feels to loose. Standard

13s on my Strat. Love having to fight for note bends. Standard or Eb

Isn't it extremely hard to do barre chords on fat strings like that, especially considering the short scale neck is thin and you have less grip?

I use 11s on everything really, short or standard scale.

I find doing barre chords easier, because when I use a lighter gauge string, it feels too floppy and I end up bending the notes out of tune when I play chords.

Strong hands don't like floppy strings.
I'm used to playing with really heavy strings though, its all personal preference.

due to the short scale there is less tension required to get things up to tune so it evens itself out. It can be a bit complicated, thus, this thread
