If you'd ever played one, you'd know that a Musicmaster Bass Amp isn't actually known for it's bass. They're actually pretty bright.
God knows what a bass sounds like through one.

Yikes! Silly (CBS?) Fender, putting "Bass" on everything.

Sounds beauty on Guitar, like, but it's no Bass Amp.

Lots of Fender "Bass" amps of the years are like that. iirc the '59 Bassman was supposed to fix all of the problems Bass players were having with bass amps at the time. More, smaller speakers for less flabbyness and so on. And I doubt many people have an original or RI with any intentions to plug a Bass into. But if it sounds good on guitar too, who can complain!?
Can anyone explain the ups and downs of using a 1 speaker compared to 2 or 4 when it comes down to only micing the one speaker?

It's an increased resonant body. That means more bass, thump and depth to the sound.

yeah but if you like a nasal overdrive bass sound it works, mic'd for gigs i've seen it.
biting into an icecream is nice too
