I don't know who Simon Neil is but his sig guitar is cool.

Talk about all other types of guitars. Jazzmasters and basses go here!

I think the point is that it's not necessary to quote large images like that. Especially directly after they've been posted. You quoted the pictures to reference the bass but then started your post 'That bass...' which does the job perfectly fine.

Just ordered one of these old chaps, been thinking about it since I first discovered them and watched a lot of places online go out of stock so they must be selling well, EU/ UK exclusive too. Cannot fucking wait 'till it arrives.

Found some better pics:

Strat or bass?

I hate this, but I would rock the shit out of that strat if it wasn't for the name on the headstock. I gig with a Jag-stang too, but there's something about a name on a headstock.

Strat, I just came home from seeing Knopfler live and had an erection for a Fiesta Strat

Now if the "TWAT" in question would ditch his strats, and start playing Jags... F*ck, I'd be thrilled to see a Squire VINTAGE VIBE JAGUAR!

I ordered from Andertons, I think there are places doing it £10 cheaper but Andertons do free delivery and I've used them before and I like them... It was £269.99, GAK and Dolphin Music have it for £259.99.

Haha. He was playing here this month at the arena I usually work at. I was raging that we weren't working that gig, I would have loved to have set up his stuff and maybe get paid to watch him.

Congrats on the buy, it looks great.

Having played one of these back to back with a Mexican strat, I must say, I would go for this without a seconds doubt. It feels much better that the Mexican and it sounds better.

Now if only the truss rod didn't leave a big minging hole in the headstock....

Where would you rather it be? On the neck heel where you need to remove the neck or the pickguard to make an adjustment?

The show was very folk/ bluegrass- sounding, the band with him played tin whistles, mandolins or other funny looking guitar things, double bass (!), accordion, violins etc... it was good, sounded very Scottish/ Celtic in places too. Knopfler himself played the usual Fiesta Strat, Les Paul, his legendary Pensa (my fav), a Danelectro '59 and the steel resonator from the front cover of Brothers In Arms. The show was 2 1/2 hours long, no support band or interval, just flat out playing the whole time...really glad I went, I thought I might not get a chance to see him again considering he's in his 60's now. He did have to sit down for the whole show because of his old back

That clip sounds good. Does the fact that he's sitting down mean that he doesn't need the sweat band anymore?

Nah, it just doesn't look as good when you're bald.
