Thanks Taylornutt! Had it printed out last night.
So The guy that had the necks I was going to buy backed out on me unless I was willing to pay over $300 for one. I found this. Much better deal. They even have the option for a lefty with right hand inlay dots. http://www.warmoth.com/Guitar/necks/cbs ... gneck.aspx

When I do mine, ReRanch has a Lake Placid Blue Sparkle I will try or I will use it on a Jazzmaster Project ( my own take on a J. Mascis Jazzmaster)

Sorry for being new here, but after seeing that Supersonic template I drooled. Is there a difference in tone/playability in the Supersonic when you modified it to a body-thru/tune-o-matic bridge design? Thanks.

making some progress. I'll have pic's very soon. One quick question; Does anyone know where to find a lefty jag control plate?
I've seen here on shortscale that it has been verified that the lefty Jag plate is a match to the ss. Anyone beg to differ?

Pic's will come as soon as I can find my camera. I only hope it will do justice, It is very hard to capture metal flake in all its glory.
I orderd Deep Marine Blue metal flake from here. http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/kusf16.aspx
I've done some test shots with great results. This is not my thread on TDPRI http://www.tdpri.com/forum/2011-tdpri-t ... ead-2.html
but it shows pretty much the results I've gotten.
I have also gotten my hands on a real SS pickguard and hate to say that the template found here http://files.me.com/newmanrocks/v8fabn is not perfect. is off quite a bit. I'm not slamming Wemmert at all on this, in fact that template came in very handy. Anyway, off to find my camera and wait for decent lighting.

I have found almost every template to be off a little bit. It's nice when you can check against an original. That's what I did on my Jag-stang template.

after scoring a replacement pg on the bay, and a control plate from wadeaminute. printed off the hypersonic template pdf from Wemmert. the pdf was off a bit in quire a few places, so I used bigprint and photo shop and the best pic I could find on google. I had to skew the pic in photo shop. then use bigprint to scale it properly. after that I printed it out and used sprat adhesive to mount it to mdf.

That's a bit like the neck joint on a bolt-on SG or Epiphone ET275

Mine will look very similar to that. so far all I've shown is the template for the whole neck length. I made another shorter neck template for the finger board. It will also extend into the maple a little just like the pic. Just enough to fit under the p/g. the maple does extend to the neck pickup when set at the proper 24'' scale. it's basically a Jag neck with the a 1/2'' added at the end. I was just going to get there but anyway like this.

I don't have a pic yet of the template heel and radius that will mach up to the pickguaed.

BTW, I had fedex reverse the pdf of the neck, because I do want the reverse headstock. Its also a 5/8''neck pocket depth just like almost all fenders, also the same depth as the pickup cavity route. the control route is much deeper to fit two 500k push pulls.

as soon as i started to route the body I really effed up. I forgot to tighten the bearing stop and the bearing dropped causing this, right next to the second pot I have a problem to solve. I'll show that later.

I used cereal box cardboard to widen the neck pocket because poly flake finishes are pretty thick.

forsner bu=its make routing neck, pickup, and control cavities a lot less work and save your bits. fyi, if you didn't already know.
