For the record Hurb, the clean setting on the Spiders is a model rather it being a straight bypass to just the solidstate preamp or anything.

yeah..this is what makes me think just go for the line 6 as I know I actually like that amp..rather than just any clean amp.

stewart wrote:i dunno, £60 or something? it's just taking up space here. you can get it to house levels but the volume knob has that usual fender quiet/loud thing, it can be done with a few seconds of tweaking though. to be honest i've only used it a couple of times and wasn't paying all that much attention to the line 6 at progfest for comparison, but it's clean clean clean.
cheers mate seems line a fair price.. would you be able to ship it for that?
does anyone have one they can do mic'd video with fuzz pedals?

Er, I'd have to stick shipping on top son, can't remember how much I paid but it was over £100. I could maybe do a wee audio recording tonight for you if I get a chance.

No worries mate. I did think something smaller like my 75w would suit you better and save you money you dont need to spend, having said that i think the 75w II's go for around £140.
Let us know what you settle on

Cheers fran. to be quite honest I played my new great destroyer and ufo fuzz through my amp yesterday and it sounded fab. I sometimes think My mind is playing tricks on my ears. I do need a new amp though. my hodrod I have had for over 10 years now and I'm sure it's on the fritz. and when it is cranked it sounds good. It's just I want low volume cleans at high volumes not overdriven sounds. should I ever stop being crap and get in a band situation. plus a little combo amp would stand a better chance of surviving in the living room rather than what I have going on at the moment

If you're wanting to keep costs down, you could always pick up a Pocket POD Express and use it as a preamp into your Hot Rod's fx return; I'd imagine the clean modelling sounds are comparable if not the exact same.

Looks like they go for 45 quid or so, although I remember saying your Fender needed revalving, so maybe it's not an ideal solution here.
I guess there's always the option of a Line 6 head or Micro Spider in conjunction with the Hot Rod's speakers, or that Harley Benton cab you have?

I might try that pod thing doog, I have a behringer pod copy, I will see how it sounds.

Just quickly tried that out and it seems to sound ok, Just wanna check I did it right so I don't blow nothing up.
I used the L of the line out(the only other out is a headphones socket. and plugged it into the power amp in socket in the hodrod. I do good?
It's late so I couldn't rock the casbah but it seemed to work.
This may just be the ticket!

Yeah, that'll work just fine; the headphone output will be slightly hotter output so the line output is ideal.
