tele plates hardly even look good on teles. their design is very utilitarian in general (all those right angles all over the guitar). however, it fits it's no-nonsense workhorse character. you can see that soon after the tele fender began focusing much more on product design with their guitars. the mustang reflects this; it's full of curves and smooth contoured flowing lines. it can be pretty jarring if you throw in an element that runs against that character.

I agreeee. This in black and white (if dazbootman can make it work for me (not too expensively)), or a standard Bronco plate.

It's drop dead gorgeous. I'd use that as my design template if I was in your shoes. It's incredibly cool! ((drool))

Hahaha, that's almost exactly what Project Guitar #2 was going to be: a Duo with a Bronco-lookin' pickguard and a Toronado bridge. Looks like somebody beat me to it. :P

But right now right now I've got a basswood body on my hands, and I don't have a dual humbucker guitar! Hence, Project Guitar #1.

Waiting for a reply from dazbootman, mulling over color schemes. Input if you wanna. Black humbuckers and a toggle on the lower horn.

I do like that, but if your using full size humbuckers it might look a bit strange. How about single coil sized humbuckers with robroe covers?

Something like these:

I vote for this one, but only if the humbuckers have black bobbins and no covers on 'em.

Thanks for the pics guys - definitely a cool looking guitar! 8)
