I have an Alden in a Vox 1960s 'teardrop' body shape and headstock. Vox style pick-ups. It is hollow bodied with a single f hole. Sunburst finish with binding. Nice.

I haven't gotten it yet. I bought it on Ebay yesterday.
The place I bought it from has one like this also(but no pickguard). It is $539 with a hardshell case and free shipping.
The one in this vid has a new PG,stoptail and knobs but the rest is stock.

He was telling me them and the Disc copies fly out their store . Hand carved abalone and aluminum discs ( though the discs are not as detailed as the real deal but who cares ) .
As for the set ups from the factory ? I doubt it . My Quadrastar needed some fret work and a set up . It was playable but buzzed in a few spots but after a set up plays great . Out of my 7 guitars I tend to play the Quadrastar ( The Quirkstar ) the most . The sound(s)( they say 75 different but it's more like 30 or 40 ) is just very distinct . Not getting all HarmonyCentralist on you but I'm surprised a higher end company like Fender or Schecter ( I think they're good ) hasn't made a frankenstein pawnshop guitar like it . Schecter had the Ultra 3 but that's a different animal. Plus I think Schecter even discontinued that as well.
It's basically 2 guys out of the Cape Cod area . I dealt with George mostly . Pretty decent guy . Bought it on a Tuesday and had it Thursday . Here's mine ( excuse the "jammin, in my jammies " pic ). That white thingy around the QTX switch is just paper . I just took mine out .

Noice! You bought it from them directly? How much? What do all the switches and knob do? 75 sounds?
My friend on another forum owns these.

I don't remember the full details, but the older brother of one of my colleagues has a friend, an University professor, who was a friend of Tony Zemaitis When a guitar didn't turn out perfect Zemaitis would often give it to him. So he has a stack of imperfect Zemaitis guitars in cases, chained together, in his garage. That's the story, anyway.

I like the Alden better than the Zemaitis! Looks like a lizards belly.

How's the neck on the Alden? AMS cancelled my order for the goldtop re-issue so I've been looking at the metal disc version. Wonder if I could etch it into more detail myself.

The neck on mine is really nice, has sort of a medium profile. Those TV Cruisers look awesome!
