Doh, thought this was Ends thread since he quoted your entire post.
Yeah, if you're not necessarily after a short scale the EB-3 is a good choice. Can definitely get a lot meaner than other basses in that price range.

probably a better build quality then the epiphones i've been looking at, however, for how much i know i'll use this thing, probably not worth the jumping out of my budget (after shipping) vs being able to walk out of a store with one for less then the BIN.
but damn does that look sexy

I didn't realize that shipping on that was so much. Still a nice deal for something probably near Gibson quality and will have good resale value.

I've been dying to pick up a Greco Gibbo copy for ages but yeah, most of the eBay auctions are instruments being sold from Japan and have a $100+ shipping tag, which wouldn't be SO bad given the prices of some of them but you may also be hit with an import tax (depending on how they're feeling that day).

so.. i was looking around online today to see what might be found at other shops here in town, not sure if they have the Epiphone re-issue but they do have this beautiful gibson eb-3
for only 2 grand...
so.. much more then i'm looking to spend.

Then I realise I rather play with photoshop than an actual bass.

I have an Aria(oooold) EB3 body with both pickups/pickguard... no bridge. Also have the neck for this bass but needs frets.
