Ended up buying a PlumCrazy FX Hambone - like their Fuzzy Lady but with a couple extra settings. $180 express shipped to my door. The last one of 25 made.

It has the 60s British tones Ive been after. Only downside is that it is 9volt POSITIVE center. So I've got to use batteries, which is an extra hassle but probably for the best.
