Ok, I think the bridge is intact, pivots and springs back like it should. I'll leave it be.

It doesn't look so bad I guess. Here is what it looked like with the Dimarzio.

I think it looks great. I would personally put a chrome cover on the humbucker but that's just me.

Definitely keep the refin!

At first I thought it was a pretty crappy refinish . . .

but whoever did it spent a fair amount of time measuring and taping; the lines are symmetrical!

Or if you wanted to go as tacky as possible, you'd paint red striped on it.

Aluminium, actually.

Nah, bad idea. Just stick a chrome humbucker cover on.

Aw screw it, I'll just get the SD SM-1 (Firebird replica). I want clean tone first and foremost. Down the road if I dig the 7.25 radius and vintage frets, I'll make it a Honey Blonde and get Jeanie to make me a pickguard for the mini bucker.

Unless I change my mind on the way to the shop lol. They have the Phat Cat as well.... and a SD '59

Damn guitars

if you're going to restore, go all the way. looks like you've got the bridge intact there which is almost worth its weight in gold. knobs can be spendy for knobs, but there are quite a few of them kicking about this forum's membership, so just ask around. there are even a couple or so dudes here who have pick guard templates. if done right, this will be a great guitar when you're done. keep us posted on the progress!

Yes, the original knobs look cool for sure. I'm going to have to take some more wood out of the pup cavity today. They did a poor job. Mainly needs more depth.
