I think my B&B Jazzmaster with humbuckers makes a better Jazzmaster / Les Paul cross.

Did not like the look of that. Fender shapes looks wierd in fancy paintjobs and bindings.
My dad's got a fenix tele/"les paul" hybrid that's pretty sick. Looks like this:

Plays fairly good but the tuners and bridge pretty much suck.

In my opinion, any shape looks good with binding, just not all guitars suit both back and front binding. Slap some front-body binding on any Fender shape, be it a strat or a Jaguar, and it looks instantly super classy, and remains comfortable because of the back contouring. Teles work well either way.

I like it. Yeah, would like ergonomic contours. But nice modestly offset shape. In a Fender Neck Amber finish, matching headstock with a maple neck...mmmm, nice.
