Of what I conjured up they go for between $450 and $600 . I paid $450 used but I'm seeing they're going up ( actually all Mustangs including RIs ) .

If any advise I'd say go for a 65 Reissue . IMO they're better . 65's are alder and edged. 69s are basswood but are shaped slightly different ( more comfortable IMO ) . 65s have better pickups but the 69s have nicer necks . But overall I think the 65s are better despite me having a 69.

Hm. Good information, thank you. I might just try to go for a used Mustang instead of a Classic Vibe Duo Sonic.

Do this.

I have both.

I have a 69RI and a classic vibe duo.

Love em both, for the money the Duo is amazing. But 69RI have a nicer neck profile and better sounding... need to replace the pickups though.

for whatever reason middle strat pickups sound phenomenal in the neck of any other guitar. and jagstang neck pups sound bad ass in strats

if any one of you bad asses want to let go of your 69RI's, please put that shit up for sale in the 'fieds.

can you post a picture? was it brown tort from the beginning or was it red?

Here she is .

Thread reminds me of the Shell Pink Strat that I don't have, despite what myriads have tried to convince me of.

Nice. I did a craigslist search for my area and didn't find a Mustang under $600. The Duo will be closer in price to my funds if everything works out.

Although, checking it again, brings this gem up:Mustang?

that looks like a cheap copy- i'd steer well clear.

That's a copy. Most likely of Japanese origin. It looks mighty rough and it's not worth the money, at least from a player's perspective.

Yeah , something's weird about that . Shapes are off . It's gotta be a 70s knockoff or something.

I had a feeling.

The painted headstock and truss rod are what made me wonder.

I'm pretty sure sloan had one just like that. pretty neat but definitely not a $400 guitar.
