My other favorite is my Tele with a Lil 59'

I don't want to just stick a duncan 59 in my paul. I want something more unique. A little cooler sounding. But nothing with more output than a 59.

Again, more down to the amp, pedals and technique he's using.

I guarantee you, he could've played a stock Jagmaster on that track and it wouldn't sounded much different, especially when there's a ton of gain involved. Unless you're playing clean guitar into a clean amp, you can't put too much emphasis on the pickup.

18k is literally too high unless you're a virtuoso. That's not even an opinion. I'm being objective and speaking about everyone. Have you actually played one? Any shmuck like me or you wouldn't have the dexterity and ability not to make every whistly noise and squeek make you sound like shit.

I tried a Dimebucker and that happened and that's only 16.5k. Dimebag could use it because he was a master of that sort of thing (which I have no interest in. Whatsoever. Ever.)

I used to have a guitar with a motherbucker in, it was 21K or something rediculous

but I grew out of it 8k is as high output as I want to go these days.

That's pretty good going, chief. With the Dimebucker it was stupid. Trying to tap, palm mute and generally shred about was a complete nightmare and made me and my friend sound terrible. Plus no cleans, innit.

Yh it was a challenge, definitely helped my accuracy, but tone-wise it wasn't a nice thing. I'd much rather have a low-medium output humbucker with a nice warm sound.

I play mostly clean these days, playing Jazz and all.

well it depends on what youre playing. for jazz its no use i guess.
try play a dirty progressive solo with good sustain and youll see what im talking about.
