The strat jack ruins the look and the bottom of the pickguard looks too short because the right angle jack should be there. The hard tail bridge is a good idea but is too trapezoid shaped and needs to be more rounded.

Both the necks look good, especially the headstock of the jaguar. I love the color choices though.

I would buy one if they removed the strat jack. Didn't they do that strat jack on the Telemaster?

nah, telemasters have tele jacks on the lower edge.

With a no nonsense hardtail and single-coil setup, that Jazzmaster would seem to make a decent starter body for a baritone or 12-string project, but that jack positioning is indeed an ugly wart on the rump.

Plus and more than a few minus points for going left field with butterscotch finish with a fake tinted neck, I'd dare to like it a lot more in surf green and/or sonic blue on rosewood.

Disappointing guitars are disappointing. Seriously the jack and bridge are just awful.

I really don't mind the bridge. I don't use the trem on any of the guitars that I own that have one, BUT, I do think that the bridge adds to the vibe and tone that I love about real jazzmasters. I am interested to hear how these sound though, because with every other guitar that I've played I've preferred hardtail to trem. I might find that I like the VM jazzy... minus the strat jack of course!

I sorta dig the white button tuners and applaud the rejection of sunburst and black but Jazzmaster/Jaguar is COME ONNNNNNNNN

i feel very underwelmed here. I know the VM series takes an idea and runs with it and unless they sound awesome like some of you have said here they have missed a trick. Saying that if they sell I can see a CV version that would be more "correct" to the originals. Lets hope they sort out some decent colours for them

The tint on the jazzmaster neck makes it look like it should be on that Jersey Shore show.

Those bridges look like Danelectro bridges from the newer revamped range. They are only bolted in by the middle screw at the back of the bridge, behind the saddles, and rest on top of two screws, used for overall height adjustment. I could be completely wrong, mind you, but from the shadows they're casting, it certainly looks like that's the case to me as they look raised slightly rather than sitting against the body of the guitars. Which also means that there will be only three minor holes to be filled in order to stick a proper Jag/Jazzy bridge+trem setup on there. But that fugly shit jack socket would also need to be filled in.

Can I be one of the ones that actually says I don't really mind the Jazzmaster? I like the colours both on the neck and the colour of the body, and I like the pickguard and pickups. Again, only the strat input socket really jumps out at me as being fundamentally retarded beyond belief. The Jag however is a bit poo. I think maybe it's the zebra humbuckers and the tort on red. Horrendous design decisions that shouldn't have made it anywhere near a guitar that was going to be referred to as a Jaguar.

But yeah, I'd totally consider the Jazzmaster if I saw one for cheaps.

Thinking about the comparisons to the Blacktop range, that seems about right actually. These are like funky Squier 51's in that they've been provided with an easily removable bridge, are already routed for Jazzmaster and humbucker pickups, etc. Again, that strat socket is just ridiculous. That couldn't have been cost effective. Why the fuck would they do that.

Shit looking guitars with ugly adornments replacing the attractive versions of the originals, available in shit colour options.

if the bridges are top-loading there's a hassle free solution for musicmaster/duo-sonic II projects (provided squier actually release some spares).

That jazzmaster looks somewhat like the prototype jazzmaster.
Strat input and all.

I like that it has a maple neck. I'd get the neck and refin it for a replacement on my jazzy.

i'm a sucker for bound guitars and that looks really interesting. Will this be the usual restricted to Japan models?

ooh, i'd like to try one of those jags ^ when they start filtering over.

These silly strat jack models almost look as if they have white plastic tuner buttons, but the tuners are all aligned to face the light source so it's almost certainly just a reflection of the light.

Even if they did have classy looking tuners you'd never notice because you'd be constantly thinking 'what the dickens is this strat jack doing on here?'
